Goings ons…

I think that we as westerners could really learn alot about ourselves, if we really honestly practiced non-attachment. I’m coming at it from a more emotional standpoint, as opposed to how much ‘stuff’ we pretend to possess. The funny truth about material items is, it owns us. When you think about it, it’s true. You have to take care of it, and have a place to store it when your not ‘using’ it. I don’t think material possessions are wrong or bad, on the contrary, I rather like alot of the things that I have. The aforementioned is what I always keep in the forefront of my mind whenever I see something I want. I always also ask myself, ‘is it necessary ?’. Anyways, I think we spend a great amount of energy attaching ourselves emotionally to every aspect of our lives. It really is quite unnecessary. Most of us have a ‘regular job’, that we seriously do not like. Ask yourself, why ? What is it about the set functions you perform that you have such a grudge against ? I would be willing to bet it’s nothing. It’s probably alot to do with the other people around you that you work with. It’s okay, be honest. Then what is it you so dislike about them ? Are you sure it’s not hidden guilt manifesting itself about you ? Alittle thing I find that helps me personally is, on my short breaks, I go outside, and sit alone, and just breathe. That’s it, nothing more. Try it sometime, just sit there, and do nothing.

Until next time,
